Buff and red are the colors used for Supply and Transport organizations, the predecessor organization. The wheel, indicative of transportation, together with the artillery shell and the scarlet and yellow of the indented bend, allude to the supplying of artillery ammunition by truck. This was a primary responsibility of the Supply Battalion, 2d Armored Division, from which the previous organization descended. The green and white of the wheel were the colors of the Armored Forces.
Crest
The brick red wheel with arrowhead is a reference to the basic mission of the Supply and Transport Battalion. Its six spokes symbolize the six campaign credits earned during World War II in France and Europe and the arrowhead refers to the assault landing at Sicily. The embowed arm in armour refers to the 2d Armored Division of which the unit was an element during World War II and the two bands, one red, and the green, symbolize the awards of the Meritorious Unit Commendation and the Belgium Fourragere.
